OVERVIEWIDEA EVALUATION

Feedback on an idea is easy to give and hard to compare. Scores drift with the wording of the prompt and the mood of the answer.

killmyidea scores an idea across a bounded set of dimensions, then computes a verdict from those scores: KILL, FIX, or SHIP.

WHAT JEV DECIDESJUDGMENT

Jev produces the scores within the bounds the dimensions define. The verdict is computed from the resulting scores rather than asserted directly.

From an idea to a verdictDECISION FLOW

The project asks for an idea and a goal: making money, building open source, or creating something for fun. The goal changes which dimensions are judged and how much they count.

JevCases reading of the documented scoring flow
Idea + selected goal
        ↓
Eight bounded Jev scores (0–4)
        ↓
Normalize to 0–100 → goal-specific weighted average
        ↓
Apply fixed thresholds → KILL / FIX / SHIP
  • The scoring code normalizes each answer to a 0–100 scale, applies the dimension weights, then rounds the average.
  • The verdict code assigns KILL below 50, FIX from 50 through 64, and SHIP from 65 upward.
  • The documented clarity gate asks for more detail when the idea is insufficiently understandable, while preserving the raw scores for inspection.

Use the verdict to choose the next questionTRADE-OFFS

A fixed scoring scale makes the decision rule inspectable. The judgments feeding it still depend on the submitted description and the selected goal. More specific input may expose a different weakness even when the underlying idea is unchanged.

Treat a low dimension score as an assumption to investigate. A SHIP label does not demonstrate customer demand, willingness to pay, or a successful business outcome. Those require evidence from the people who would use the product.

FAQ5 QUESTIONS

What is KillMyIdea?

KillMyIdea is a project by monteduro that evaluates a written idea using bounded Jev scores. Application code combines those scores into a KILL, FIX, or SHIP verdict. JevCases documents how the project works.

How does KillMyIdea score startup ideas?

It evaluates eight dimensions for the selected goal, normalizes the scores, and computes a weighted average. Fixed thresholds determine the verdict; the model does not write that final label freely.

Does a SHIP result validate market demand?

No. It reflects an automated assessment of the description under the project’s scoring rules. Interviews, actual usage, and purchasing behavior provide separate evidence about demand.

Where can I try KillMyIdea?

Use the author’s demo button at the top of this case, or open the source repository for local setup instructions. The demo runs on the project author’s website; JevCases does not operate it.

Are submitted ideas stored?

The project README says successful evaluations are stored server-side by default, with a per-request opt-out in the form. Check the author’s current privacy controls before submitting an idea.
